| Check
Flowers Daily |
| Keep
the vase or container filled with fresh water. Even if
there is foam in the container |
| keep
the water level high. Add commercial flower food when you
change the water. |
| Flower
food may be included with your flower arrangements. Flower
food will prevent |
| bacterial
blocking of the stems, tease the buds to open and increase the
life of your |
| flower
arrangements. |
|
|
|
| Re-cut
Stems |
|
| Every
couple of days re-cut the stems on an angle to give the flowers
a good chance of |
|
| taking
in water. Remove damaged foliage or blooms that have
fallen into the water. This |
|
| would
be the best time to change the water also. If you wish to
keep the flowers at the |
|
| same
positions they came in originally, tie the arrangement with
twine near the top and |
|
| re-cut
the stem bottoms, keeping the lengths the same. |
|
|
|
| Change
Water and Add Food |
|
| Clean
the vase or container before changing the water. The water
should be room-temperature. |
|
| Add
the recommended amount of flower food. Clean any dead
leaves or spent blooms before |
|
| returning
the flowers to their container. |
|
|
|
| Display
Your Flower Arrangement |
|
| Flower
arrangements do their best when kept in a cool
environment. Display your flowers |
|
| away
from direct light and also away from a/c vents or a drafty
area. Also avoid the top of |
|
| an
appliance such as a refrigerator or TV which gives off heat and
can shorten your flower's life. |
